Here's What I Found While Testing The Pure White Version Of This Strip- Stated Watts = 0.2 Per SMD Actual Watts At 12.01 VDC = 0.1787 (Quite Close) Stated Color Temp = 6000 - 6500 K Actual Temp = 6450 K (Spot On!) Stated Color = Pure White Observed Color = Slight Blue Tint (6000 K & above is supposed to always have a blue tint.) Description Says "Luminous Very Even" Testing = Very, Very Even (Tested with Foot Candle meter) Stated Spread = 120 degrees. Measured = 120 degrees (good for area lighting) Waterproof? Yes. 100% waterproof in a submerged test. What I Liked- They are sturdy. The waterproof covering is a silicone jacket, not a cheap sleeve. This helps lend strength to the assembly. They are very impact resistant when firmly mounted. The on-board current limiters allow you to have different lengths of this strip on the same power supply and maintain exactly the same brightness & color temperature on each strip. Connections are easy. The solder pads are rather large and easy to target. Stripping the jacket for soldering is tough unless your knife is very sharp. But, that is a good thing- It provides a very watertight seal. If you do not have a good soldering station with temperature regulation you may burn the solder pads. Bonus Solder Points- There are very large solder points occasionally placed on the strips. Since these are wired in parallel, those points can be used for soldering. With these, you probably can use any normal 70 to 100 watt soldering iron. The existing solder on the pads is lead free. The adhesive is 3M brand and performed very well on the test surfaces of clean, unfinished wood, mill finish aluminum and plastic laminate. It did not perform on HDPE plastic. (There's not much that will stick to HDPE) When the strips get warm in use, the adhesive can be puled off for easy removal if you change your mind. But, it does not fall off when warm- even when upside down. What I Did Not Like- These are only going to perform well if you do not have a constant voltage power supply. A non constant voltage supply will try to 'keep up" and increase the voltage to its maximum, possibly damaging the LEDs over time. The copper foil connecting the lights is fragile, but this lends to the flexibility of the unit. Handle with care while stripping the jacket for soldering. Appearance- They look good. Very industrial chic. But... The silicone jacket gets dirty quite easily. It is a very soft silicone without the hard skin. All dirt sticks. Also note that cleaning with ammonia based glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol will etch the silicone. Dish soap worked well, but some dirt may remain. If installed outdoors where wind can abrade them, they will get dirty quickly & be quite hard to clean. What You May Find Helpful- Since the beam spread is 120 degrees, the farther from the unit you are, the lower the foot candle reading will be. If you want high intensity light, you may consider building a reflector to aim the output. An Example of light spread- 1 meter of this strip was installed above a 80 bright white surface. There was one white vertical wall 6" behind the strip. The power was constant voltage 12.1 volts DC. The Foot Candle readings were as follows- Centered Under Strip (Distances in Inches) 40" Below the Strip = 6.7 FC 18" Below The Strip - 29.01 FC 12" Below the Strip = 47.0 FC 4" Below The Strip = 184.2 FC So you can see how a reflector will help concentrate the light. If you put them under a kitchen cabinet, the work surface will have about 40 FC- That is quite a bright work light. For spread, the same 36" strip was able to spread the light for about 2 meters before it was no longer noticeable. A higher mounting surface will spread it farther. Conclusion- These strips are great for their intended task. They are not perfect for concentrated light unless you build a suitable reflector. No strip will be concentrated without the reflector. They are sturdy & waterproof. These would be well suited for soft area lighting on a patio or similar. They'd be great for truck bed lighting. If yu bash into the strip, you most likely will not damage it. They're sturdy! Would I Buy More? I already did! Would I Recommend Banggood? Yes, without hesitation. Their customer service is the best in the industry. They ship very, very quickly every time. Delivery to US has been anywhere from 10 days to 4 weeks. Not bad at all.

To be honest I did not hold up a lot of hope these would be good enough to do the job ( light up a large motorhome awning and privacy room ), but they reallt are perfect for the job. The sticky strip on the back of the light strip also proved very good and has withstood some really horrendous weather. I am very happy to recommend this product to one and all :-)
